The JAM 2009

Yesterday was the first (annual?) Jason Amy Memorial (JAM) Water Ski Tournament out at my Uncle Dave's lake (Bass Lake). Carson and I went out in the afternoon to meet up with most of my family and Kevin was actually able to join us out there once he got home from Mexico, so that was great! He was really bummed he thought he'd miss it all, but they skied way longer than anticipated. Carson had a blast running around, playing with everyone, and going in the water... in his clothes... why is it always so much more fun that way?? :) It was great to see everyone again - all of the Amys were there and they're always tons of fun, as well as all of Jason's old buddies and the Tuffy guys showed up later on after work, too. We might actually have a new dog lined up now, too! We'll see how it works out - whether Kendra was serious or not, and whether Jet likes Lola or not, too.

I'm sure the party went on into the wee hours of the morning this morning, but we left around 6pm to head over to my Aunt Sharon's house to swim for a bit before heading home. A professional skier from California, Jodi Fisher, will be having a slalom clinic at my uncle's lake today. We didn't know about it till yesterday, else that would have been how we spent Father's Day... Kevin in the clinic and Carson and me watching. We could have still signed up yesterday, but we had already committed to going over to Kevin's parents' house early-afternoon and then over to my aunt's house mid-afternoon. So maybe next year if they do the clinic again, anyway. It sounds like the JAM will become an annual thing now! Very cool! I'll be uploading our pictures into the photo albums, so check back soon!

I bet the show was a blast! Glad Carson was able to enjoy the water and that Kevin even made it out! Maybe we'll have to come sometime if this is going to be an annual event :)

It'd be great if you guys come next year! If you like skiing, you'd like the tournament. It's not all grand and show-y like the ski shows are, just slalom skiing from the starting dock at one end, through the course, turn around and back through the course again. The skiers are judged - there were judges placed at three or four different viewpoints - on technical stuff and then placed by that score.
