Happy Halloween!

We have been having a super fun weekend! Lots of friends and family and lots of Halloween excitement!

We started Friday morning when Sara's friends Melissa and Jenny came over with their kids - Adalin, Brayden, Kira, and Ashley. Carson had tons of fun playing with them and we all enjoyed a yummy taco lunch together.

Then on Friday night, Carson and I picked up Anna and we headed to Lansing to the Impression 5 Halloween Caper. We had a ton of fun and it started in the car on our way out there. Carson and Anna giggled and laughed hysterically the entire hour ride out there. And the fun just continued once we got there. Anna was dressed as a ladybug and Carson wore his lion costume with no complaints! We met up with my friend, Lina, and her daughter, Vayla. I5 provided pizza, juice, and water for dinner and we got to wander around checking out all the fun Halloween activities - making paper spider hats, making pumpkins out of paper plates, making bookmarks, fingerprinting, bugs from the MSU Bug House, a photo op, balloons, pinwheels, tattoos, watching the Great Pumpkin, making slime, and others - and of course just enjoying all their normal, fun exhibits. Everyone really had a lot of fun. Anna claims it was the "funnest night ever." :)

Saturday morning, Sara's cousin, Kristin, came over with her boyfriend, Eric, and his two boys, Cayden (6) and Gabe (4), to hang out for a bit and borrow the cherry picker and trailer. Carson had fun just taking it all in with the older boys.

Then Saturday evening, we headed over to Aunt Julie and Uncle Jason's house for dinner and trick-or-treating in their subdivision. Carson had a blast! It was definitely a good idea to go with Anna and Joel so he could learn the ropes. Though he did still try to go inside people's houses, help them shut their doors, "roar" at random kids walking by on the street, and stop to take a rest on the front step of some houses. :) He lasted much longer than I thought he would, though I did have to carry him for the last part, his little legs were just too tired.

After trick-or-treating, we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma's house to hang out and watch the MSU-Minnesota game. The Bush family also stopped by. The kids all had a ton of fun playing together and it was good to catch up on the female chit chat. By the end of the night, Julie had Jonah sleeping on her, Emily on Heather, and Carson on me while we waited for the game to end. It was a super late night, but its good to do that every so often. And we all had a ton of fun, so its all worth it! :)

Today we're busting out lots of fall clean-up and winterization chores and then we begin another week of Kevin working in Virginia. There is still no sign of this assignment's end, but we're making the most of it and just taking it a day at a time. We've got some busy weekends coming up, including a trip to West Lafayette, Indiana in two weeks, so the time will keep on flying by and life will be back to "normal" before we know it.
